Gastroenterology and Hepatology

Conflict of Interest and Publication Ethics

Gastroenterology and Hepatology complies with the position of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) on “Conflict of Interest”. Conflict of interest for authors is defined as “financial and other conflicts of interest that might bias their work”. This policy requires complete disclosure paragraph in both the cover letter and in the manuscript prior to Reference section from all authors of all financial relationships or other competing interests that could be perceived as biasing the study, whether or not this support was related to the subject of the manuscript. Gastroenterology and Hepatology follows the Principles of transparency and best practice in scholarly publishing.

Disclosure Guidelines

In the Disclosure section of the manuscript, all of the authors’ financial relationships (and those of their “immediate family members”) from the past two years must be disclosed. If they are deemed relevant to the study described in the submitted manuscript. If the study period of the submitted manuscript exceeds two years. Any financial relationships relevant to the topic must also be disclosed. This disclosure paragraph should be added to the cover letter and to the manuscript prior to the Reference section. Any mention of corporate sponsorship for the study should be declared first. Second, the author should mention government or institutional funding. Any details pertaining to the length of the study should not be mentioned, as they will not be included. The authors names should be listed as they appear in the manuscript. If the relationship is ongoing, use present tense; if the relationship is from a previous period, the past tense should be used. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that full disclosures appear on the submitted, revised, and final accepted manuscripts and the page proofs reflect the listed disclosures.

Any financial support from the government and or institutional grants must be reported separately.
