Summary

Summary:

We present the case of an 80-year-old man examined for sideropenic anaemia. Upper GI endoscopy revealed two gastric metastases of clear cell renal cancer. The subsequent abdominal CT revealed a tumour of the right kidney. The patient repeatedly experienced haemodynamically significant bleeding from gastric metastases during his hospital stay. Laparoscopic wedge resection of the gastric fundus and part of the greater curvature was performed. Localisation of metastases was improved by peroperative endoscopic assistance with injection of methylene blue solution. The patient recovered well and underwent subsequent elective nephrectomy.
