About the Journal

Gastroenterology and Hepatology is an official peer-reviewed journal of the Czech Society of Gastroenterology and the Czech Society of Hepatology, the Slovak Society of Gastroenterology and the Slovak Society of Hepatology, published by the Czech Medical Association of J. E. Purkyně by the publishing house Care Comm. It is published on 6× a year. The articles are published in Czech, Slovak and English. The journal has been published since 1999, its previous name was Czech and Slovak Gastroenterology and Hepatology (ISSN 1213-323X).

Gastroenterology and hepatology are indexed in the following databases: SCOPUS, CHEMICAL TITLES, EXCERPTA MEDICA/EMBASE, CHEMICAL ABSTRACTS, INIS Atomindex, Food Science and Technology Abstracts, Bibliographia Medica Čechoslovaca, Index Copernicus.

The journal publishes original articles in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology (each issue is devoted to one main topic: IBD, hepatology, digestive endoscopy, clinical and experimental gastroenterology, gastrointestinal oncology), results of clinical trials, articles for postgraduate lifelong learning (CME), review articles on current current issues, case reports, reports from congresses and meetings of the society. Also published are reports on new books, comments on articles from other journals, observations, opinions, discussions on interesting topics, biographies of important personalities, personal reports and letters to the editor.
